The goal of Courageous Cooking School Online?

To take you from home cook to home chef, building skills from the ground up, and cultivating your capacity to cook what's in season, with limited waste, and MAXIMUM flavor.

Unlike many other online cooking schools, we aren't providing you a series of static videos. Yes, we have that too.  From everything from knife cuts to braises to discussions on our favorite ingredients and more.

BUT!  The best part? Our WEEKLY lessons are interactive, and live!!!!  (We post recordings too)

The Courageous Cooking School was founded at La Pitchoune, Julia Child's former vacation home by Makenna Held. Over the past 4 years, more than 300 people have traveled to around the world to experience in-person Courageous Cooking for themselves. 

Now, we're so excited to create a virtual home for courageous cooks across the world to meet, learn and commune.

The Courageous Cooking School's online classes have become an absolute blessing during lockdown, but it's the lifetime of mastering the art of recipe-free cooking I am most excited about.  With the Cordon Bleu-trained Chefs' focus on the principles of foods and flavors such as mains/compliments/contrasts and the chemistry of fat/acid/salt/aromatics, I know my home cooking will be elevated to levels I haven't even imagined yet.  One day I'm sure to step food in the famous Provençal summer home and kitchne of Julia Child where the physical school resides, but for now, I hope to learn as much as possible through their online programs.  LOVING IT!
